Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
There are of course many different forms of substance abuse treatment plans to assist you in your recovery. One example of treatment that often gets overlooked is PHPs. However, PHPs could be just the treatment for you.

What is a PHP?
PHP is short for Partial Hospitalization Program. While PHPs are a type of outpatient treatment, they in fact have many similarities to standard inpatient treatment plans.
As you may know already, outpatient plans allow you the freedom to live at home if you should choose to do so. PHPs are a more intensive type of outpatient treatment. So if it is intensive therapy that you feel you need for your substance abuse recovery but would also like the freedom of still remaining at home, this plan will be perfect for you.
What does a typical day look like during PHP treatments?
Your days will be spent mostly receiving care at our facility. You will have access to many types of treatment there to include:
• Holistic healing such as Yoga or hikes
• One on one therapy treatment
• Group treatment therapy
PHPs allow you to take advantage of all these treatments during the day. The treatments listed above could make a huge difference in your recovery.
Is a PHP plan the right fit for my recovery?
PHP plans will work for some patients. Will you be able to handle the freedom that a PHP plan provides you with?
There are positive and negative arguments for all treatment plans, and PHPs are not any different than others.
On a positive note you will receive the treatment you need while still seeing your family at night.
A negative point that comes with this type of treatment could be the freedom to make poor choices that may lead to a relapse in your recovery. The withdrawal symptoms and cravings that you will go through will be intense.
Do you have a strong support system at home? You will definitely need them to help you get past those weak moments that withdrawals and cravings will cause. If you do not have a support system in place to help you then PHPs may not be the right choice for you.
